I am WAY under budget for this trip so far...   It is unbelievable how cheap it is here for a westerner.  I cannot believe it... but, after a couple of weeks I know it is true!!

 

You can live here easily on $10 USD per day:

 

200 rupees hotel room (I've stayed as low as 125)

150 rupees meals

150 rupees activities and transportation

 

500 rupees total = $10.10.

 

And this is a liberal budget!  Some days I am eating all meals for under 100 rupees.

 

So, today I decided to "splash out" and booked a $20 a night hotel for my stay in Jaipur... It is a heritage building from the Colonial times, I have a room the size of a suite; this place has western toilets (hallelujah!!!!) a BATHTUB (whoa!!) and a really nice pool.  I had dinner at the rooftop restaurant under the stars!!
